Idea Worth Stealing: Variegated Emeralds

This is an idea for the jewelry industry, borrowing from the plant industry. This idea is what happens when you have me being corporate in the diamond industry by day, and being @thefiddleleaflady plant expert by night.

Natural emeralds tend to have a lot of inclusions in them. It's very rare to get a totally flawless emerald. In the world of plants, variegation is the term for a leaf which has more than one colour on it. It's generally seen as a good thing (more exotic).

My idea, is to borrow the terminology from plants to describe a signature collection of natural emeralds. The organic language subconsciously reinforces the natural element of these stones - they are not lab grown. Of course they are imperfect - nothing in nature is perfect.

You could take it a step further by designing a jewelry collection which mirror the natural shapes of leaves. You can take those atypical shaped gemstones (weird ratios, lopsided, cracks, chunks out of the side, etc) find a leaf in nature that resembles it, and thats the name for your piece. E.g.: the pothos chandelier earrings, the monstera pendant, the snake plant bracelet, the fiddle leaf pinky ring, etc..

I think this could be an exceptional collection / product line for an existing jeweller, or could be the basis of a strong brand on its own.  I can help you with choosing which leaves go with which stones or designs (e.g. this stone looks like that leaf, this stone's colouration matches this rare plant colouration, you could combine a cluster of these stones in this way to make a tennis necklace that looks like this vine, etc). I would use fiddle leaf lady to sell those products through tiktok and instagram shops..

Would definitely want to have my piece of the pie for this being successful, but thats getting into the details. If this is an idea you're interested in, get in touch with me.
