I won’t keep you waiting - it’s $0 in 3 years.
When this video was going viral I had every major media licensing company in my DMs promising the world if I let them list my video on their platform. I decided to go with Jukin because my research told me they were the biggest name in the industry, and based on the sheer number of messages they sent me (three different scouts from the same company offered me deals), my thinking was that they had the biggest team to be out their getting placements for the videos they landed.
They have had that video for three years now and nothing was ever done with it. It has earned no money for me whatsoever, so I’ve written it off as a lesson learned about the business model of media licensing. The only one who benefited in that deal was Jukin being able to post the video on their monetized channels to “advertise it as available for licence” while collecting for the views they accrued.
That experience is the reason why I set up the media licensing division of this website so that I could licence my 30+ videos that have gone very viral since then directly to buyers without the middle man. Thats been a very profitable division for me, so I suppose - thank you Jukin!
