I want to thank the team at Capilano Suspension Bridge for their hospitality and for the incredible work that goes into Canyon Lights every year. If you've never been, it's a 450-foot pedestrian suspension bridge that spans a canyon in North Vancouver where every winter, they deck out the entire forest with Christmas lights.
Knowing how long it takes me to untangle and put up the lights for my little Christmas tree, doing this at their scale, across an entire forest and on a bridge suspended over a canyon, feels like a monumental amount of work. I am very grateful that they put in all those hours, because seeing the forest lit up like this really is magical.
If you're worried about whether or not its worth going on a rainy evening, don't be. I was there on a wet night which I thought might put a damper on things (pun intended) but was pleasantly surprised that it just made the lights even more impressive since they reflected off all the wet surfaces.
